About Matthew

Hello! My name is Matthew Goldschmidt and I am an Associate Professional Counselor with Ellie Mental Health. I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy to help look at anxious, angry, or depressive thoughts, feeling, and behaviors to see what can be changed or tweaked to help with the health of the whole person. I also like to incorporate elements of DBT when working with anger and elements of play therapy when working with kids. I have a background in Theology and am able to bring faith into the counseling space. Prayer and Scripture can be woven into treatment to help in the healing process. I also like allowing space for humor in counseling, just because difficult things may be discussed doesn't mean we can't bring in some joy and humor into sessions as well.
