  • Can you think of some of the bad things the devil has convinced us are good and vice versa?

  • Have you ever been able to recognize in the moment that it was the devil?

  • Have you ever struggled with believing that the devil was real?

Read This

  • Read John 18:33-38

    • What does Jesus mean when he says ‘My kingdom is not of this world.”?

      • Remember from last week, in this world but not of this world? How does Jesus’ statement here about how His kingdom is not of this world remind you of how we are supposed to be in this world but not of this world? Whose world are you to be of?

    • In these verses, why does Jesus say He was born and came into this world?

      • Do you tend to feel like Pilate and think, “What is truth?”?

      • How does knowing that Jesus came to testify to the truth help us understand what the truth is? 

  • Read Matthew 15:13-14

    • What are these verses warning us about?

    • Have you ever taken directions from someone who was lost themselves?

      • How did that work out?

  • Read John 8:31-34

    • The Greek word here for truth means to know through experience. How does experiencing something help you understand it is true?

    • How does knowing something (head knowledge) and experiencing something (personal knowledge) differ? Which one is easier for you to understand?

    • What does it say in these verses the truth will do?

      • What kinds of things can truth set you free from?

  • What are some ways that you can be a witness to the truth?

  • What are some things that you can do to prevent truth decay in your life?

    • In your family’s life?

  • We all have sins that we have been (or still are) a slave to. What truth do you need to understand and hold on to in order to help you fight the lies and sins in your life?

  • How can we as a group pray for you for a breakthrough in your life or your family’s life this week?
