Start Talking 

  • Do you ever tend to be busy in order to not have to face or deal with something that you really need to pay attention to?

    • How has this affected your relationships?

  • Have you ever stopped and allowed God to deal with issues in your life that you would rather suppress?

    • What was the outcome of that?

    • How did it change how you relate to others?

  • What is the condition of your soul? (mind, will, emotions)

    • Do you even know how your soul is doing?

  • Read Matthew 16:24-27

    • This passage addresses the condition of our soul. What does verse 26 ask us?

    • For what will be rewarded?

    • How does what we do affect our soul?

    • Is gaining the whole world (the glory, the fame, the success, the wealth, etc.) a good exchange for taking care of our soul?

    • Which is of greater value: what God is doing in you or what the world can offer you?

  • Read Galatians 5:22-23

    • Which fruit of the Spirit do you desire more of in your life?

    • Which fruit of the Spirit do you feel comes easiest to you?

    • How can you have more of the fruit of the Spirit in your life?

Developing a Healthy Soul

  • Get a journal

    • Do you actively journal?

    • On paper or on a computer/tablet?

    • How has journaling helped you care for your soul?

  • Read biblical books

    • What is the last biblical book that you read?

    • How did it impact your soul?

    • Did you learn something just for you or something that you have shared with others?

    • Do you read physical books or audio books?

  • Build honest friendships

    • Do you have at least two or three people in your life that you can be truly honest with and they can be honest with you?

    • How have those relationships helped you grow and take care of your soul?

    • Have they ever challenged you when you needed correction?

  • Pay for Christian Counseling

    • Have you ever been to a Christian counselor?

    • How did that help you in the situation you were going through?

    • Do you view counseling as just for those who are having problems or as a tool we could all use to help keep us healthy?


The choices we make & the quality of our relationships all begin on the inside.
