Frequently Asked Questions

Preteens, or better known as tweens, have emerged as their own subgroup in culture. We realize the importance of a purposeful discipleship tactic for this group. These preteens need more time, space, and resources. They need teaching that is specific to their age group - not too young (or "boring," as they would say it) and not too old. SuperStart exists to help fill the void for this age group, and engage them in a fun, inventive way to reach students that are often overlooked.

No, students will not be spending the night for SuperStart. Students will attend Friday’s session, go home to sleep, and then return Saturday morning for the next day’s sessions.

Much like Sunday mornings, students will experience SuperStart as a small group with peers and small group leaders. Groups will attend the large group sessions together, have structured small group time afterward, and have plenty of time to play together and bond as a group.

Your child will be placed into a same group with their peers like on a Sunday morning. They will be placed with their Small Group leader if available.

Registration covers 3 main sessions, dinner on Friday, lunch on Saturday, free time activities for small groups, a student book, and a t-shirt.

If you would like to apply for a SuperStart Scholarship, please click the button below and fill out the form. After you apply our team will follow up with next steps. Applying for a scholarship does not guarantee financial assistance for this event.

This year at SuperStart we will be learning about how Everyone can participate, Everything can be used, and you can play it Everywhere you go.

In the same way that trick shots use everyday items to perform extraordinary feats, we will help preteens discover their unique gifts and talents and show that they can use them to make a big impact for the Kingdom with the gifts and talents they already possess. Through the Gospel Story, they’ll learn that because of Jesus, Everyone can be a Kingdom Worker, and they can use Everything - all their talents, big and small - for Kingdom work, Everywhere they go. Give your student an experience they’ll never forget at SuperStart where they’ll compete, learn, and realize their potential in God’s Kingdom through the exhilarating Everyone, Everything, Everywhere challenge. Inspire them to take their shot for God’s Kingdom!

The gospel will be a primary focus of our large group and small group times.

No, they will not. All activities will be taking place at Athens Church including group free time.

Check-in will take place at our Athens Church UpStreet entrance on Friday, January 27 from 6:00PM-6:30PM. Dinner will be provided for students. It will be the same process you are used to on Sunday Morning. The Check In location will be the UpStreet desk located near the Preschool/Elementary Entrance. Once you check your child in you will drop them off in their assigned room. Remember to keep that second tag for pick up.

Students will need to be picked up after the sessions on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. You will pick them up as you do on Sunday mornings, showing your corresponding pickup tag with your child's name tag at their assigned room.

Please email [email protected] to cancel a registration. Cancellations received on or before January 15 will receive a full refund. Cancellations after January 15 may receive only a partial refund.

Please indicate any food allergies in your student’s registration.

You can contact your student through Noelle Herriger at (706) 255-5777
