Start Talking 

  • Who were some of the people that you looked up to and wanted to be like when you were growing up?

    • What was it about them that you desired to be like?

    • What did you do to try to be like them?

  • As you grew older, how did that list of people and priorities change?

  • Read Proverbs 3:19

    • Why do you think that the Lord used wisdom and understanding for the very creation of earth and the heavens?

  • Read Proverbs 4:7

    • What is the beginning of wisdom according to this verse?

    • Does that sound redundant to you? What do you think that means?

    • How important is it to know that you don’t know what you need to know?

    • Do you tend to be a “know-it-all” type of person, or do you tend to be someone who realizes that there is more that you need to learn?

  • Read Proverbs 26:11

    • What does this verse say foolishness is like?

    • Why do we go back to things that we know are not good or have not worked in the past instead of gaining wisdom from our mistakes?

  • Read Proverbs 3:16-17

    • What are the benefits listed here for gaining wisdom?

  • How can you be ready for the moments in life where you could add value to someone’s life?

  • How do we allow this God given desire and longing to be used properly?

  • What are some ways that we can gain wisdom?

  • Who do you need to get closer to so you can glean wisdom?

  • What practices do you need to implement in your life to gain wisdom and bring value to the world around you?


As you find the value in which you have, it may spark the light where others can find value with themselves.
