It’s a new year and with that come many new opportunities to grow and change! There is so much to focus on, and so many ways we could use our time. We believe that there is one thing you can start this week to make this YOUR year! We hope you will join in!

Start Talking

  • What is something that excites you about this upcoming year?
  • What would you like to see happen in your life spiritually this year?
  • Why do you think it is so hard for us to grow spiritually? What about you personally?
  • Talk about where in your life you feel pressure to believe that this life is all there is and thus you should enjoy it while you can and do whatever you want!

Read This

  • Talk about the inputs in your life (what you are putting in your life/mind/heart). What would you say are the top two inputs in your day?
  • How do you see these inputs affect you, good or bad?

Read Romans 12:1-2.

  • What stands out to you?
  • What does Paul say about the patterns of this world in the verses above?
  • How does Paul say we are to avoid being conformed to this world?

What Now

  • Are there any inputs you need to eliminate from your life this month? Oftentimes we don’t “have” to eliminate things forever, but for a little while! A reset can make all the difference.
  • Would you consider reading Luke with the church this month? If yes, here are some things to consider:
    • Decide when and where you can read your Bible. When can you do this?
    • Start now!
    • Do it with a friend. Who can you ask this week to do this reading plan with?
  • Don’t get too hung up on reading your Bible perfectly. The hope is that we would read scripture as often as we can. We do this so that we can know the God of the Bible better and so we can know what he says to us, so that we can be transformed by the renewing of our mind! Don’t give up when you mess up, this is your year!

How can this group help you follow through on reading your Bible this year?
