Have you ever felt torn making a decision? Maybe between what you want to do and what you should do, or maybe between what culture does and what God says to do? What if there was a simple way to know the right choice? What if there was a clear way to live in step with how God wants us to live?

The good news is the Holy Spirit helps us do that. However, many people view the Holy Spirit as unapproachable, mystical, or just too confusing, but He doesn’t have to be that way. If you’ve ever wondered what it actually means to live a life guided by the Holy Spirit, then this series is for you.

Start Talking

  • What is something you have tried really hard to get, but consistently fallen short of getting?
  • Mark talked about the culture of “fear” around us (this is so true right now!). How have you let fear affect your life?
  • How familiar are you with the “Fruits of the Spirit?”
  • What have you been taught about the Holy Spirit? Furthermore, What have you been taught about the role of the Holy Spirit in your life?

Look It Up

Read Galatians 5:22-23.

  1. Which of these “Fruits” are you most excited to discuss in the next few weeks?
  2. Which of these “fruits” would you pay a lot of money to have?
  3. Have you ever found yourself trying to earn these “fruits”? If yes, how so?
  4. From what you know about Paul, his life pre Jesus, and his life after, what can you learn from him regarding the Holy Spirit?
  5. Read Galatians 5:13-26. What end goal is Paul hoping for the Galatians?
  6. What does Paul say are the results of the “flesh”?

What Now?

  • Based on what we have read and discussed, how does one “walk in the Spirit”? What does this look like for you personally?
  • If you were able to be a part of the service this week, in person or online, what was the closing song like for you?
  • Considering the desire for “Love in a Time of Fear,” what is one way this week you can ABIDE in Christ? John 15:4
  • How can this group support you in helping you ABIDE in Christ?
