Our Response

An Athens Church response to COVID-19

What is Athens Church doing?

We love this city. We love these people. In fact, if you’ve been around here any length of time you’ve heard the phrase “Athens I Love You.” It’s become a kind of mantra for the church, a shorthand way of explaining what we believe is God’s heart for the city of Athens. It’s a great slogan, but in times like this, we wanted more than a catchy phrase or a cool t-shirt. We want to show this city that we mean it when we say “Athens, we love you!” So, for the next 30 days, 10% of  everything you give financially to Athens Church will be given away to help support local non-profits impacted by this current crisis. It’s one, simple way we can show our city that we love them.

How Can We Help?

We’re in the middle of difficult days for our city. Fear and uncertainty seems to be everywhere we look, and it’s during times like these help is needed more than ever. Because we know there are so many needs, but we also know there are so many people who want to help! Because of that, our team has reached out to our Be Rich partners in the city and asked them how we can help. Below you’ll find a list along with contact information for some of our partners who have needs we can help meet during this time. We wanted to help make the introduction so we can help get through these days together. Check out the list below and see how you can help!

Need: Healthy volunteers to help manage the phones, interview neighbors in need of financial assistance via phone, and assist with food bank distribution in the coming weeks.
