We’re excited to be On the Green Space at Athens Church!

On Sunday, we’ll be On the Green Space! We’re excited to host these outdoor services as we continue to move towards gathering together again. In order to stay within government guidelines, we are limiting the number of people who are able to attend these services. A free ticket will be required for everyone who attends each service. Please reserve your tickets here.

What do you mean by “on the Green Space?"

Great question, since we’ve never held an actual event or service on the Green Space! In accordance with state guidelines, churches are allowed to hold outdoor services on site with appropriate physical distancing measures in place. For us, that means people will arrive on our campus, sit the appropriate distance away from one another outside, and experience our Sunday morning service live on the Green Space.

Why do I have to get a ticket?

In accordance with state guidelines, churches are allowed to hold services where appropriate physical distancing measures are observed. In order to ensure we are following all available guidelines, we are offering limited seating availability to ensure everyone’s health and safety during these services. Ticketing these services allows us to make sure everyone is safe and comfortable as well as ensure we are following our state’s public health guidelines.

Does everyone really need a ticket?

Yes, everyone does need a ticket. This will help us spread out attendance over 2 service hours and allow us to create an environment with plenty of physical distance between guests on the Green Space.

What time does it start?

We will have two services that begin at 9:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

What time does the parking lot open?

The parking lot will open at 8:30 a.m.

Where do we need to park?

When you arrive on campus, our team will direct you to all open spots. Please follow our team’s direction for where to park—for your safety and ours.

How will we hear what’s going on?

We’ll have outdoor sound equipment so you can sing along as loud as you want. The other option is to tune into 89.9FM on your car’s radio and you’ll be able to listen from the comfort of your car that way too!

Can we bring a blanket and chairs?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own blankets and chairs to use in the section where you sit.

Can I bring my pet with me?

Pets will not be allowed on the Green Space.

Will bathrooms be open?

There will be bathrooms available at the Green Space near the Athens I Love You® letters. Please ask a Guest Services volunteer who can help point you in that direction.

What time will it end?

Our service will last one hour and will aim to end at 10:15 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. respectively.

Will I be able to leave before it is over?

If you need to leave for any reason, you are free to do so at any time. Upon leaving please be courteous to other people who are still enjoying the service by leaving quickly and quietly.

Can my kids come, too?

Yes, kids of all ages are welcome to attend with you.

Will the service still be online/live-streamed?

Yes! We understand not everyone will be able to make it out to one of these services. So we will be live-streaming our service live at 9:15 a.m. at AthensChurch.com/online where it will be available on-demand afterwards as well.
