In 2019, Athens Church started a project repurposing unused retail and warehouse space into approximately 50,000 sqft of beautiful green space, and it’s almost finished!

We’re excited to announce The Green Space Project Grand Opening on Sunday, March 29 from 4:00pm–8:00pm. There will be live music, a chance to meet new people who call Athens Church home, food available for purchase from food trucks, and the unveiling of a special, one-of-a-kind installation you won’t want to miss! So, bring a picnic blanket, your family, and your small group and enjoy the spring weather at the official grand opening of the Green Space Project.

Before

Not only will this continue to revitalize our church campus and the west-side of Athens, but transitioning these abandoned units—specifically everything to the right of Rush trampoline park—to usable ministry space will actually save the church money each year.

After

This green space, yet to be named, provides an attractive place for attenders to gather for community before and after church, a place to invite new guests, and the potential for pop-up events throughout the year.

Before

The project is expected to be completed during Spring 2020, and there is no special fundraising or capital campaign taking place to fund this project.

After

It is made possible simply because of the consistent tithes and offerings of Athens Church attenders! Thank you for being generously supporting your local church in leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
